Lawrenceville Airport Swings to the Sounds of Big Band Music

Experimental Aircraft Association, Saturday, October 26. EAA Chapter 690 at Lawrenceville Airport invites you to put on your dancing shoes, dig out that WWII uniform and dance to the nostalgic melodies of Glenn Miller, Harry James, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington at the 8th Annual EAA Chapter 690 Big Band Hangar Dance.

Reminisce to the swinging music of Atlanta's spectacular Blue Notes, a nineteen-piece orchestra conducted by Bob Bailey and styled in the fabulous traditions of dance bands from the big-band era. The band performs a wide variety of dance styles - cha cha, rumba, samba, tango, waltz, polka - and just plain old swing for great ballroom dancing.

Period Uniforms and Dress are encouraged but not required when Lawrenceville Airport comes alive to the swinging sounds of Big Band Jazz Music and the sounds and traditions of the 40's and 50's. Prizes for dance couples and most realistic period style attire will be awarded. $35/couple, $25/single in advance, $45/couple, $35/single at the door. Non-alcoholic beverages and a fabulous dessert table included. Music and dancing 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM in the Aircraft Specialist Jet Center Hangar, Briscoe Blvd., Lawrenceville Airport.

Reservations strongly suggested. For more information or to make reservations call 770-339-0804 or e-mail Dave Ostergaard at [email protected]
