Welcome to the new Atlanta Dance World forums

Atlanta Dance World the studio is closing at the end of August. I have been working on this website since 1998. I felt it would be a shame to see it go, so I have decided to turn the site into a something that will promote dancing in the Atlanta area. :o

So far I have created an index of sites and this discussion forum. I know it will probably take time for people to start posting in these forums. If you are reading this now, I hope you will take this opportunity to make a post even if all you say is: "nice site and best wishes". I'll be happy to create a forum category for specific topics like Salsa or Tango--just let me know. :wink:

I will try to get some people interested in this site, maybe we can turn it into a new destination point for dance discussion. It would be easier for outsiders (i.e. people outside the Atlanta area) to get in on Atlanta's dance scene through this site than through the closed "yahoogroups" list, which is sort of a pain to join.

Everybody's really, really busy these days. I think that's why you didn't get a big initial response with your messages on Swingtown. Plus, I don't think some people recognize the potential for the site. We'll see what we can do.

My experience has been that a good forum takes time to develope, but if a few dedicated people keep posting, the forums will grow and become a great resource. I have some really cool things I'm going to be doing with this site shortly. I don't want to announce anything until I have everything finalized, but I know that people will be surprised.

One good thing about this site is I'm doing it with my own money and time as a contribution to the dance community. I really want to make this a good place for everybody that wants to come here. As the site grows I hope you will contribute your thoughts, announcements and time to help this to be a great resource.
