Write reviews on dance schools you've been involved with at http://local.yahoo.com You can type in Dance Studios or Dance Schools or just Dance in the first box to get dance school listings. The city box narrows the list down relative to a selectable mileage radius.
I've got good and bad experiences. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time figuring out the safe & legal way to write negative reviews. So, I'll abandon that. I was happy enough to put the nice 5-star gleaming reviews of a few schools on there anyway.

What school are you involved with now?
(Sorry to hear about those other experiences. I think often if a studio runs a shoddy operation, eventually their sales will decline to the point they can't stay open, because people won't spend their money when they are treated poorly.)
