Atlanta Ballet’s Centre for Dance Education will open a second satellite location of its nationally recognized Center for Dance Education in Cobb County in early 2006. In just nine years, the Centre has become one of the top ten dance education facilities in the country and continues to set a high standard for excellence in the Southeast.

"We have assembled a world-class faculty and created a challenging and comprehensive curriculum designed to inspire future dancers," says Sharon Story, the Centre’s Dean. "Students also receive the special benefit of being able to rehearse with and observe the professional company and learn the ins-and-outs of being a professional dancer."

The new location will be located at 2000 Powers Ferry Road. "This is an ideal location for us as many of our students who now come to our Buckhead and Midtown locations from as far as Kennesaw, Canton and Gwinnett"
Construction of the location will begin in mid october. The cobb location will offer all of the Centr's enrollment classes including creative movement, student, professional and open adult divisions. The location will have a boutique as well as a fully equipped pilates studio.

you could probably already guess how happy I am about that  regardless of whether or not I ever even attend there. If I were to put a branch of a large dance company/school in Cobb County, that's where I'd do it. It's sorta like a dream come true to me. I get to have the perfect school in the location I would want it, and I don't even have to do anything in order to make it happen.

Yes I'm very happy about this as well. I discovered the benefits of Jazz & Ballet for a ballroom dancer last year when I lived in the city. Ever since, I moved to Cobb, I haven't been able to find anything comparable. Everything is geared toward kids. This studio will be pretty close to me so I'm happy about that.
