Exclusive interviews with the STARS of Atlanta Ballet

Ballerina Anne Tyler Harshbarger: Dance is not a competition; it’s a beautiful art form, that requires all of us working together.

In the world of ballet, talent and glamour is what counts… and she has both. Her talent creates poetry in motion, a motion that happens to be aided by her beauty. She is small, rail-thin and perfectly proportioned – with straight, corn silk blonde hair, and a personal style full of elegance and purity. She could very well be a model and make a career cat walking fashion parades, but instead she chooses to be a ballerina. Anne Tyler Harshbarger has been with the Atlanta Ballet for a little over a year now, but her pictures are everywhere you expect them to be, in magazines and newspapers, promoting the new season of the oldest dance company in the country. She has become the new face of Atlanta Ballet and if you just get lucky to meet her in person, it won't be hard to find the reasons why...

Aris: Many dancers in the company have been with Atlanta Ballet for years, yet you are the one getting all the attention. Is that fair?

Anne Tyler: I don’t think I am getting all of the attention. We all get different opportunities and we all get featured and highlighted at different times. I feel very fortunate to be given the opportunities I have here, and I am also grateful to photographer Charlie McCullers, who has taken beautiful pictures of me. I am definitely not one to steal the spotlight, you know dance is not a competition; it’s a beautiful art form that requires us all working together, and giving what we have as professional dancers.
