Review of Ga Tech Ballroom Night

Well the dance didn't start on time but A friend of mine had said the atmosphere was very casual and everyone would arrive around 8-8:30. The Salsa class began around 8:30 and lasted for about 45 minutes. The instructor was a great guy named Mathew Livanu who happens to be from LA. So it more of an LA style salsa. The class was pretty big for a group class. I'm guessing there were about 40 people and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The dance itself was also great and attracted around 70 or so which was the most they have had so far. The crowd got larger as the night wore on. The music was a very good mix of Salsa, Swing, Foxtrot, Tango, and Waltz. The crowd was a mix of tech students as well as students from other dance studios. All in all this was a class act dance. The floor is large with a nice surface so there was plenty of room to dance. Big thanks to Bin Lu and Irina Nikiforova for putting it together. I had a great time and will be back.

There was an interesting mix of very good dancers and new dancers. While about 90% of the people were Georgia Tech Students, there were some other people that I've seen at the studio parties elsewhere. Everyone seemed pleasant.
