ATLX: The Atlanta Lindy Exchange, March 26-28, 2004

Greetings!

For those of who are well-versed in Lindy Hop or have a little experience -- or who wonder what the fuss is about and would like to see and experience it for themselves -- there's an event coming up in Atlanta that you don't want to miss.

It's called the Atlanta Lindy Exchange, or ATLX, and it's scheduled for March 26-28, 2004. Our website for more info is http://www.atlx.org. This event will bring hundreds of Lindy Hoppers together, both local and from all parts of the country. Three days and nights of nearly round-the-clock dancing to terrific live bands and DJed music throughout the city!

An exchange is different from a hotel-based event because, first, there are no workshops involved. It's a 100% social event, intended for dancing, mixing & mingling, and making friends. Secondly, it's different because it's a "moveable feast" -- we won't be dancing in just one location, but 8 different locations around the city! (Including Saturday afternoon under a pavillion at Centennial Olympic Park!) Finally, it's very cozy because the visiting dancers stay in the homes of the hometown dancers. Some people stay in hotels, but most stay in homes, and it's a great way to make new friends.

For those of you who might not be familiar with these types of events...

..Do not be intimidated by the name "Lindy Exchange". If you know any type of swing whatsoever you can come and dance. If you don't know how to dance it is still wonderful to come and watch the wonderful dancers and enjoy the great music.
