Does anyone know if there is anywhere or anyone that teaches step classes? (as in like the stepping and strutting that Black Faternities and Sor. do).

Postby Nay1975 » Tue Aug 23, 2005 12:18 pm

There are classes offered every Saturday at Ebster's Gym in Downtown Decatur by Uhuru Dancers, Inc. This a great class, everyone is very friendly and they welcome children to participate also. Go to their website, www.uhurudancersinc.com for all the information.

AFRICAN DANCE CLASSES!!!

Postby V4D411 » Sat Oct 15, 2005 11:53 am

Hey, I know of a wonderful African Dance Class at Dance411 Studios. It's taught by Giwayen Mata on Sundays at 3p - 4p. They use live drummers that really sets it off!! Prices are really cheap, $8/class, $36 for 5 classes or $70 for 10 classes.

African Drum and Dance coming to Rialto!

Postby Kara » Fri Sep 15, 2006 3:47 pm

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know about two incredible groups from Africa coming to the Rialto for the upcoming 10th Anniversary year. The Royal Drummers of Burundi on October 21st and Les Ballets Africains, the National Dance Company of Guinea on February 17. It would be an awesome time to check out two professional companies in their Atlanta debuts (both have been around for almost 50 years!) Check out www.rialtocenter.org
