Maybe some people want to steer clear of mistreatment. I sure wish I had found an advisory somewhere online to tell me that school encourages and engages in bigotry before I had invested 6 months there.

There is nothing to exempt dance schools from the same sorts of reviews that can be written about products at Amazon.com. But, if you don't want this sort of thing on your web site, I'm ok with that. I won't re-post it if I find it missing again.

I'm sorry you had this unfortunate experience with Georgia Ballet. I am glad that you found a better situation for yourself. Hopefully, the experience you had was the exception, not the rule. Unfortunately, we are limited in that we can only hear your side of the story. Sometimes, it is best just to move on. Dancing is a wonderful. Let the passion take over and leave the past behind. :D

I wish it weren't that way... being only my side of the story. I would be willing to discuss or debate them at a public forum like yours. My bet is that they would not show up if invited.

Nowhere at this time. That stuff happened through October to November last year. I've only done short stints with two places since then, Daystar and Kennesaw Dance Troupe.

I wish waltz, swing and hustle classes were as easy to find as ballet classes are. It's a good thing there are (good) videos of those styles, or else it would be impossible to get far in a decent amount of time.

I'm still glad I went to Iris Hensley's memorial. I knew I was doing the right thing. I'm not the one who desecrates her legacy. I'm the one who points out how others desecrate it.

I'm over at Atlanta Dance in Marietta (www.atlantadance.com). Maybe you would enjoy some partner dancing for a change? Probably best not to dwell on what happened at the Georgia Ballet. Maybe you can find a better place. I've always found it is good to move around in the dance world. If you don't, you'll never find out what you've been missing. What about Atlanta School of Ballet, Dance Stop or Dan and Company?

You're right about the moving around part. That's the way I always liked to do it. Not necessarily quitting every place & moving on, but keeping all the eggs not in one basket is the way to go.

I'm into partner dances. I've done waltz and swing on stage from February through May. Twice at Anderson Theater, and we also did school shows. I'm hoping to be in that show next time it starts getting booked if they haven't replaced me.
