Exclusive interview with Britney Spears and "Onyx Hotel" World Tour choreographer Brian Friedman. Comes to Atlanta with 'Monsters Of Hip-Hop" April 9-10, 2005.

First, I would like to ask you a question that everybody in the dance world is interested to know. What is it like dancing and choreographing for Britney Spears?

Brian Friedman: Dancing for Britney was one of the most amazing experiences ever. I traveled the world, performed for millions, and got paid to do it! You can't beat that. Right? Choreographing for Britney was the pivotal point in my career. I knew I wanted more, but wasn't sure exactly what. Choreography was always a passion, but I never considered myself the right kind of person to be a choreographer. I lacked the confidence in my work. Without Britney's encouragement, I don't know if I would have made it. She's a pleasure to work for. She's such a talented dancer. Any artist that can do fouettes, switch leaps, and back handsprings is cool with me!

Last year you choreographed for Britney Spears ABC Special and for her "Onyx Hotel" World Tour. How challenging was that?

Brian Friedman: The Onyx experience was extremely challenging. It was a time when there was a lot of rumors circulating, and tension was high. We just had to stay focused, and work hard in the short amount of time we were given to create the show. The final payoff was pleasing knowing what struggles we had. The ABC special was great. I had been away from Brit for about a year while she tried some other choreographers, and this was my first project back. It was like going home again.

While you were performing in Europe for "Onyx Hotel" Tour, here in America there were rumors that Britney’s dancers were complaining about being overworked and underpaid. Is that true or just another sensational story from American media?
