A professor ISO partner in Ballroom/ Latin dance-Updates

Postby GymSean » Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:03 pm

I am a Visiting Professor at Georgia Tech and new in town.
I have done Ballroom dance and Latin dance, in international style, for 10 years and want to find a partner to practice together.
Considering dance is an art of body build as well as an excellent exercise; I am very sincere in this.
I am 5’11 tall, 156 lbs, dark hair and eyes, athletic build.
Please feel free to contact with me, if you are interested.

Due to almost none reply, I want to put some more things here:

For a regular ballroom dancer, there may be three requirements: acknowledgement, motivation and basics.
You want to acknowledge that ballroom dance is not social dance; the purpose you are going to meet a potential partner is dance instead of social.
Motivation is the essential. If you are interested, definitely you are or will be doing well. We can learn together and inspire each other.
Though the experience is not crucial, I also have been a beginner, you want to have some ideas of basics. It will make you easier to enjoy the free diving in the music, to develop your body to create a moving sculpture, and to feel the pleasure of your inner running strength without manual labor.

We have very good studios on the campus of GT.
If you are interested, we may have a trial practice there and see if we can work it out.
Send me a message, thank you.

Sean

Hi evielaw,
My wife and I are considering moving down to Macon in a few months, and possibly opening up a new ballroom. I would love to learn more about the scene down there.

Hello Sean,

I understand it can be tough to find a partner...especially in International style. There is a Gentleman by the name of Yari Muller who works out of Atlanta Ballroom Dance Center. He has a Ballroom Social there every Thursday night from 8-9 and they dance International style. I understand that they need more men to attend, so perhaps you may find a partner there who is more interested in serious dancing.
